Choir I welcomes our youngest singers from ages 6-8 into a safe, high-energy learning environment. Through music, drama, dance, and light instrumentation, these young artists explore unison singing and vocal development with the support of their fellow choristers. Led by a superb teaching staff, singers will start to build their musical vocabulary and discover the many ways they can use their voices and musical expression. Through highly entertaining songs, these young performers discover a love of singing that they will cherish for a lifetime.
Each 45-minute rehearsal will be filled with singing and movement games, rhythm exercises, word play, and skill building through singing, cultural dances, and learning with pitched instruments. The singers will have opportunities to share their musical skills with the other choristers and director on a regular basis. The majority of the time will be spent learning songs and exercises that help enhance musical skills, vocal technique, and expand choristers’ musical vocabulary. Guests from the greater arts community will join the choir’s excellent staff to enrich your young singer’s experience.
